Spring Mushroom hunting

While traveling to Sisters I snapped off a few pictures of Mount Jefferson & Hoodoo, and Three Fingered Jack, and the amazing area. We had a wonderful time looking for Blonde Morels & Boletes. The geographic area was GORGEOUS! Can not wait to return next Spring.
                                                                  Hoodoo looked beautiful.

This was a picture of a small herd of deer. A nice Buck with several Does that                                    scampered in front of me while I was picking Boletes off Jack Camp Road.

Mushroom tidbits

I have a YouTube account that videos can be viewed on, Mushroomwhisperer. Feel free to look at the Deer Fence Video & a few waterfall (little ones) and misc., videos. My husband has put some on his FB., David McKenzie of Oregon. My FB, is with his. We have videos, groups, and pictures of Nature, MUSHROOMS & Family. My other blog, amomentinmyshoes.blogspot.com also has videos & info, not just my books blog, avisualguideforharvestingmushrooms.blogspot.com.. I am on Twitter also, Boletasaurus! Drop me a line.

We spend alot of time in the field so not much time to chit chat. However, leave a message and we'll get back to you.  This was our Birthday Dinner! Freshly harvested Red Huckleberries, Blackcaps & trout!
It was amazing. We don't just harvest & buy Mushrooms. We also know where Blackcaps, Thimbleberries, Elderberries, Currants, Salmon berries & many other wild goodies grow. It's such a joy to be in the forest.

Spring Morel & Boletes

This Spring we, finally, went to Eastern Oregon
to search for Morels & Boletes.
Sam, with his first Boletus.
We had a great time teaching him & his wife the
"How to's" of Bolete & Blonde Morel picking.

My husband David found this grouping.
                                                        A Blonde Morel & a Boletus. Yumm!

"Leo a Rose"

Born as Leota Rose,
I became me.
I was a Wife before
I was a Mother,
Cannot have the second with out the other.

Many children I have born,
Many hobbies I enjoy,
Many hats I have worn,
Many ideas for comfort & joy.
Cannot have the second with out the other.

As a Leo, I am Strong.
As a Woman, I am Courageous.
As a Lover, I am Passionate.
As a Mother, I am me.
Cannot have the second with out the other.

My name is Leota Rose.
My sign is Leo.
My hat is made of Crochet.
My Role in life now is a Grand Mother.
Cannot have the second with out the other!

Leota Rose McKenzie
